Living Alive is a year-long initiative launched by Across U-hub. The purpose of this campaign is to promote positive living values and to encourage youth to reflect upon their lives and develop their own interpretation of a meaningful life. What is your interpretation? Is it by strengthening relationships? Or by breaking out of your comfort zone? Or just by lying under the big blue sky enjoying the breeze?

Origins of the Logo

At the very beginning of the Living Alive campaign, none of us really knew what it meant. Although we knew its purpose is to encourage youth to reflect on their lives and really think about what makes them feel alive, we as core members never really had a chance to think about this question seriously. As a result, for the first few meetings, that was all we talked about.

We shared our visions, our stories, our experiences, and our thoughts on what Living Alive really means to each of us. Some of us talked about relationships with our family and friends; some of us talked about breaking out of our comfort zone; some of us talked about connecting with the nature. Those inspired by the sharing sketched up logo ideas and others provided feedback. There were new ideas after each meeting and the logo ideas continued to evolve. In the end, we came up with this logo - one that consist of a person with welcoming arms, jumping out of the comfort zone. The colours used were also discussed previously at sharing where blue represents the sky and the orange gradient represents sunrise. We feel that this logo represents our collective ideas of what Living Alive is and hopefully can inspire others as well.
